Chernco has been creating and producing solutions since 1975.

We are the custodians of a site that has a long history of creating.

Cherncoโ€™s road to today.

Chernco was foundered in 1975 by John Rankin and his associates as an industrial equipment and pumping service provider to the cattle stations and businesses of the Northern Territory. When the time came to move south, John and his family set up a farming operation near Cowra and Chernco came too. With the relationships and contacts from the NT Chernco evolved into a pump distribution business primarily for Stalker Pumps. It was this long relationship with the Stalkers that lead to John purchasing a bronze founding business in WA called Chernco Products. This is where Chernco got its name from. The name was continued on as all the bronze casting were branded Chernco so it made sense to continue the name. By 2006 Mark Rankin had joined the business having graduated mechanical engineering and the decision was made to purchase Cowra Engineering. From the strong foundations set for the business we have continually expanded the operations to where it is today.

58 North Logan Roadโ€™s History.

From before the turn of the 20th century our site was a vineyard that produced sherry. The bond store for the storage of the non-duty paid sherry remains onsite as well as the original Hart brick cottage. In the 40โ€™s Edgells purchased the site with the help of the Defense Force in order to establish a vegetable cannery to supply food for the Pacific campaign. Edgells business flourished, and they continued to expand the site up until 1993 when they sold it to Cowra Export Packers, which was a co-op owned by local farmers that were supplying produce to the cannery. In 2000 the site was sold to Windsor Farm Foods who continued to operate the cannery up until 2013 when it was sold to the Rankin family to become Cherncos new home.
